You should get your PhD in Education
You have a lot of inner strength, and you can dig deep when you need to. You are resilient.
You are both patient and persistent. You don't give up on anything or anyone.

You have what it takes to be an amazing educator - no matter what the subject is or who the students are.
You are good at meeting people where they are, and you'll work hard to make sure they learn what you are teaching them.

Make of this what you will :)

Tarot Card
lurkingwombat

You are The Magician

Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing,
you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

You know, there are some days i head to work and i love my job and the people i see.  And then there are days where i get those few idiots that just don't get it. No ID to check their account, or don't believe me when i tell them no or that they are the special ones that get to buck the system just cause they are so special.
Gods, days like today i just want to gut them with a knife and set fire to their corpses.
Hope people are having a better day. Can't wait to sleep tonight and wake up tomorrow with a more cheery attitude

Questions Meme from Sandrinnad

1. If you could never watch either tv shows or movies again, which one would you choose? (tv movies are movies, shows made into movies are movies, movies made into shows are shows, mini-series are shows)
-----Have to go with never watching movies again.  When a movie comes out on dvd and a store wants $25.99 for a show you will watch in 2 hours vs a tv show on dvd that is 18 hours for the same price i will pick the tv show every time.  Also, there are writers that have said that they take ideas they have seen in movies and incorporate them into shows they write and that this happens all of the time.

2. Which is more fun - the Blue Beetle superhero or Harry Dresden's Blue Beetle?
---Well, was going to answer that Harry Dresden's Blue Beetle was better as they keep killing the superhero's named Blue Beetle but then in the last book Harry's Blue Beetle was killed off as well so i am torn. Think i will have to go with the superhero though as the original Blue Beetle (from Charlton Comics) had ties to Ancient Egypt, the 2nd Blue Beetle (DC) was similar to Batman in that he had gadgets and fought crime but was a lot less dark, and the 3rd Blue Beetle (also DC) was a young kid who was granted an alien artifact that had ties to both the original Blue Beetle and also to the Green Lantern Corps.

3. Which one piece of furniture can't you live without? (fixtures aren't furniture)
Not really sure.  Will say the big bookcase as it stores a lot and it isn't technically mine so i am wanting to hang onto it

4. What is your 3rd favourite animal, and why?
Capybaras would be it. They are very cute looking, not endangered and can be adopted as pets.  Supposed to be very friendly too. And they kinda resemble wombats :)

5. If you could save only one bookcase from a fire, which one would it be? (no reorganizing the case before the fire. yes, I would mourn the rest with you :) )  -    :) Thanks
----The big 6' wood bookcase as pretty much all of my fantasy, science fiction and fiction books are on it. Also, seeing as how it is on loan from a good friend losing it would be a really bad idea.  Would be very hard to replace it.

Calgary Day 1
lurkingwombat
Hey there
So i thought i would type about what i did on my Spring vacation, while i am on it :)
So i caught a flight out of Comox at 11:45am out of Comox. I really should have gone to bed early the night before and in a sense i did as it was early in the morning by the time i fell asleep.  Mainly i was packing and making sure that i had enough clothes and stuff for my time here. Also, i didn't want to forget anything. So, yeah, i ended up going to bed about 2:30am and got up at about 6:45am.  Meant to leave at 8am to drive to Comox, but with one thing or another (packing, eating, getting ready) i ended up leaving by about 8:45am.
Oh i had also made a new-ish driving cd for the trip. Managed to put 79 mins, 10 seconds onto an 80 minute cd-r. :)  Mainly upbeat Italo Disco music with a Robotech song thrown in for good measure. :)
Anyways, hit the road and had a good drive up there.
Got there shortly after 10am and popped in on Caffienekitty and dropped off a book, a birthday present, and a copy of THE hockey game from the Olympics.  Went from there to my Aunt and Uncle's place where i visited with my Uncle and tried to get an audiobook program to work on his computer.  Stupid Windows security alerts!!!
At about 11, we figured we should head to the airport as my flight leaves at 11:45.  Got there and the plane hadn't arrived yet so that was a good thing. Also, they don't live that far from the airport so another plus there :)
Flight was good.  Got a nice seat by myself at the back of the plane and read a book during the flight.
Cousin Ken came and picked me up at the airport and we headed off to the building he works at as he had some unfinished business to attend to.  He works in the drug trade here in Calgary.
After he had finished wheeling and...well...dealing, we headed off to his place and i dropped off my stuff and got to see his wife and their kids. Then we all bundled up and went over to our Oma's for dinner.  Well, for them it was dinner and for me it was lunch.  Between the drive, the flight and the time at Ken's work figure there was a span of some 10 hours since i had eaten last. (not my fault!)
Dinner was good though soon after i fell asleep sitting up while talking to my Oma ( ya, my bad) but the day had caught up to me by then.  Slept for about an hour and then came back here and watched a show on the History Channel and then headed to bed.
Oh and i finished the book that i started while on the plane.
Tomorrow (Day 3) i will type about Day 2 :)
hugs all

Dr. Pepper "Breakfast of Idiots"
lurkingwombat
hey there
Just thought i would throw this up here :)
So i was in a hurry today to go get books for a big book sale.  Got up at 8:30 and tried to load up books to take with me. Seems i took a few too many as they ripped the handles off a large gift bag i well had. And then loaded them up in a box, which broke under the weight of all the books.  Good thing i had those cloth shopping bags.
Oh and as i was in a hurry my breakfast consisted of one can of Dr. Pepper.
Though i did have real food that was around 1pm.
Was going to go with "Breakfast of Champions" but figured with some of the comments i expect that title was better.

relieved

So i just got some news that relieves a whole lot of guilt i have been carrying around with me since this past Monday.  Hopefully the news i have stands and i can really start to enjoy the last few days of my vacation worry free :)
